My name is Sean McMahon, and since you’re reading this, you have discovered my tiny corner of the web I like to call Cerebralscape. I came up with the name Cerebralscape several years ago and over time, I’ve recreated it numerous times and also abandoned it as many, replacing it with a variety of domain names and sporadically creating content willy nilly that was neither great nor terrible. And still, I’ve come back to this name, this Cerebralscape, because I like it, because as far as I know, I coined the term and so I feel a sense of ownership. It’s a simple concept really, two words, cerebral and landscape that put together mean exactly what you think they would.

At first I thought the name would be too difficult for people to understand, that it couldn’t generate brand recognition, or help with that mystical SEO stuff snake oil salesman pitch to unwary internet travelers. In the end, I realized that I want to write, and while I hope that there are people out there who are interested in what I have to say, there would be no point to my writing if the effort was solely to generate a meaningless score on a meaningless algorithm. So I decided to stick with the name I started with, to write what I want and how want, and let the cards fall where they may.

I have two full time jobs, one as a data analyst and the other as a husband and father of four. I do my best to prioritize, which means that sometimes I’ll post like crazy and at other times the tumbleweeds will roll through the CSS. I write about things that interest me, including but not limited to technology (especially Apple), education, parenting, and science. I’m still trying to find my voice. I see glimpses of it in some posts, and wonder what the hell I was thinking in others. It will come in time as long as I keep writing, keep honing the skill. If you decide to come along for the ride, it might get messy. You’ve been fairly warned.
